St Helena is not only one of the iconic beachfront houses in Barbados; it is also one of our teams and our Villas Barbados’ guest’s favourite villas. St Helena is an 8 bedroom beach front villa with private pool and stunning gardens sleeping up to 16 people. The main house has 5 bedrooms accommodating up to 10 and the guest house which is a large standalone villa has three bedrooms sleeping up to 6 people.
We absolutely love the feel and style of St Helena. This luxury Barbados vacation rental has a classic colonial style yet is also extremely luxurious. The villa has been recently refurbished and there is almost a luxury Hampton feel to St Helena. The villa is absolutely immaculate with wonderful attention to detail throughout.
The entrance to the villa is impressive with huge electric gates leading to a courtyard with extensive gardens. The main door opens directly to the living area which in turns flows seamlessly to the outdoor terrace, gardens and beach. The main sitting room is very spacious and has two distinct areas. One for relaxing and chatting amongst friends and family and the second area doubles as a television room.
One of our favourite spots in the villa is the outdoor gazebo which is located directly beside the sea. Many of our guest love to enjoy breakfast, afternoon tea and sundowners in this spot. St Helena also has a unique aviary in the gardens. This aviary houses 250 homing budgerigars. It is the only one in a private villa on the island of Barbados. One of the luxuries of waking up in St Helena is hearing the sounds of the waves lapping on the shore combined with the sounds of happy birds chirping in the mornings in this tropical paradise.
The pool and the gardens at St Helena are also worth special attention. The gardens are beautifully maintained and full of wonderfully smelling tropical flowers and shrubs. The pool is very large and is good for both proper swimming or just for a relaxing cooling dip. The deck around the pool is partly covered and has a beautiful fountain feature which has been hand carved from natural Barbados stone. There is a heated Jacuzzi in the gardens which our guests love to use especially at night time. It is a place to spend many happy hours under the stars whilst chatting to friends and family. In addition there is a really fabulous barbeque area and the team at St Helena can organise a wonderful occasion barbeque evening.
The accommodation in St Helena is split between 5 bedrooms in the main house and three in the guest cottage. The main house has three bedrooms located upstairs including the master suite. All the bedrooms are lovely but the master suite is particularly special. It features a King sized double bed with a luxurious canopy. It is very spacious with a separate living room with its own office area. This special room is named the Napoleon Room. In addition there is a very large bathroom off the Master bedroom with bath and separate shower. All three bedrooms on the first floor open to a spectacular semi-circular veranda which has a lovely sitting area, bar and fabulous views of the gardens and turquoise sea.
The guest cottage at St Helena has the feel of separate standalone villa. There is a fully equipped kitchen, living area and terrace with pool views. The Master bedroom and a twin bedroom are located on the first floor with sea views. These two bedrooms shared a balcony and have lovely pool and sea views. The third twin bedded room is located on the ground floor of the guest cottage and has direct access to the pool area. The décor of the guest cottage is luxurious with lovely pops of aqua colour.
One of the additional unique features of St Helena is that there is a speed boat available to guests. When you book with Villas Barbados, you will receive one hour’s complimentary use of the speed boat each day.
St Helena is unique in Barbados in that all its bedrooms are of equal standard. It offers great flexibility and is a perfect choice for a small wedding, special anniversary, birthday party or a multi generational family get together.
STAFF
St Helena has some of the best staff on the island. The team are led by the Villa Manager Judy who is passionate about customer service and she ensures that her team anticipate every guest needs. In addition, there is an excellent Butler, cook, housekeeper laundress and gardener. They each work 6 days per week to ensure you have the most relaxing holiday possible.
Our team at Villas Barbados will also be happy to organise all your pre arrival requirements. We will arrange everything from airport transfers, car hire, restaurant reservations, boat trips and excursions all with our compliments.

Unavailable We all voted BA flight as superior in each of our classes. Seats, food and service pipped Virgin. Kirk got us to St Helena in one piece and we were greeted by the whole staff. The introduction to what was to be the most cohesive, efficient and friendly team you could wish for. We were all absolutely blown away with the incredible style and decor of the magnificent property with each room surpassing our expectations. The views from the villa, especially the sunsets, were spectacular and will remain as one of our indelible memories of this incredible holiday. We cannot speak highly enough of the villas team. Each and everyone worked seamlessly to ensure the house worked like clockwork and to give us the best experience possible. Working together they are the engine to make this magnificent property great and our experience second to none. The service that Rawle gave us daily anticipating our every need as well as addressing any queries or requests was exceptional. And always with a smile, although that may of had something to do with the cricket scores! Erlene is simply one of the best cooks we’ve had the pleasure to experience. Not only producing fabulous local cuisine but giving us a fine dining experience on many occasions including a Key Lime Pie that we all agreed was the best we’ve ever had. Under what could be difficult circumstances like last minute requests , numbers and shifting a party with 24 hours notice we genuinely had perfect food every time Floreette was our housekeeper who ensured the house was spotless everyday. But also she was the hostess who gave us the right bus routes, told us of the church services, told us not to get sunburn and generally looked after our well being Alison's laundry service for all 9 people was superb. All washed and ironed within 24 hours allowing us all to return to the UK with little to no laundry. And all with a beaming smile. Kendrick and Emerson, our gardeners, make this house so different to the other west coast properties. The gardens are quite spectacular bringing green monkeys, humming birds, mongooses, as well as many other local wildlife right to our door. With two of our party keen gardeners they were happy to share their green fingered secrets. The gardens down to the beachfront are absolutely central to making this property such a unique experience. Frank, our night security, was here every night greeting us on our return from a night out and making us feel safe and secure It is obvious that the teams length of service contributed to the clockwork running of St Helena, their seamless interchanging of duties on days off and the pride and dedication they all have in ensuring that every member of our party had a holiday to be remembered Please ensure that all concerned , including the owners, know how special this team and property are and a massive thank you from the Halliday party. We thoroughly enjoyed our fantastic holiday at St Helena and indeed, we feel we have to go back in the not-too-distant future. Everything went to plan perfectly and the house exceeded expectations. The staff were excellent too; nothing was too much trouble for them and they made us feel very comfortable and privileged.
St Helena's is a wonderful property on the cusp of the glorious Gibbs beach. Its a stunning Colonial home steeped in history & was lovingly restored by the owners a while ago. The main house has 5 bedrooms while the newly restored cottage has 3 more (all en suite). Guests can enjoy the relaxing swimming pool area or step onto the sandy beach for a swim. Let Alison, Raule, Florette, Erlene & Kendricle look after you and make your vacation a memorable one.
St. Helena needs to be seen to be believed! Even the beautiful photography doesn't do it justice. There's a wonderful feel to the whole property which is beachfront & has exquisite grounds & even an aviary! The villa is beautifully kept by Judy & her team. There are 5 bedrooms in the main villa & 3 more in the guest cottage which is actually another villa - beautiful accommodation. I'd highly recommend to our guests who love beachfront luxury, private surrounds, plenty of space and a real colonial feel.
St Helena should be classed as a 5-star hotel. Beautifully located, steps from the beach, staff that wait on you hand and foot and food to die for... the chef is exceptional!! If you are looking for a magical vacation in a stunning villa set in paradise! I would more than recommend this property to everyone! It boasts 8 luxury bedrooms so ideal for a large family.
